Not answered Upgrade mysql 5.5 to 5.6

Hi all, I am using tmp4 file servers 40250, I need to upgrade mysql to version 5.6 (right now I have 5.5.4).

I would need some help and some information.

I am doing this upgrade late since I have already done several implementations.

I would kindly like to know if I risk any data loss, if I need to make any backups or if after the upgrade I need to make changes somewhere.

If you could also tell me in correct order the commands to perform the update I would be grateful, everything I found on google did not match.
