Hello everyone on the forum,
I rented a FreeBSD server and installed MySQL 5.6 on it. Then, I downloaded the BYVural41 Metin2 server files and successfully set up the database — I can connect to MySQL without any issues using Navicat. However, when I try to connect to the server from the game client, I get errors and cannot log in.
The server processes seem to be running, but no output or logs appear when I attempt to connect. I suspect there might be an issue with the IP or port settings, or the firewall configuration might be blocking the connection. I tested the ports externally, and they appear to be closed or unreachable.
I would appreciate any advice on how to troubleshoot connection problems like this on a FreeBSD server, especially regarding network and firewall settings, or if there might be something I’m missing in the server configuration.
Thanks in advance to everyone!
